Overcoming the Challenge
Since 2001 Equal Voice, a national, multi-partisan organization, has advocated for equal representation of women at all levels of government, from federal to municipal. Due to the pandemic, Daughters of the Vote (DOV), their high-profile annual 4-day bilingual conference, was to be held virtually. To pull this off, they needed an engaging virtual experience to inspire young women across Canada to participate in politics.
Strategy
A Unique Way of Approaching The Problem
Sourcing the right bilingual virtual partner was vital to creating an event that was easy-to-use and accessible across all device types. We set up a virtual main stage with group chat and Q&A functionality, simultaneous breakout rooms, a networking lounge and sharable business cards, sponsors & exhibitor booths, a content hub for on-demand videos and gamification to drive further engagement. The robust custom platform included a tiered registration system providing various access levels based on attendee type.

The Proof Touch
Attendees were greeted with a larger-than-life LIVE virtual experience that included a virtual House of Commons and inspiring keynote speeches by PM Justin Trudeau & former Green Party Leader Annamie Paul. From website design, video production & online registration to speaker rehearsals, and accessibility integration (including ASL, simultaneous translation, and live captioning), our conference team handled all event logistics. Our hands-on approach made accessing the event and moving through sessions seamless, allowing attendees to spend more time making connections with each other and less time trying to connect to the event.

Project Impact
For a first-time virtual conference, DOV welcomed over 400 attendees from across Canada, reaching an astonishing 99% delegate attendance rate, proving they had the power to connect with audiences in a meaningful way, both in-person and virtually.
